Adventure Travel Honduras: …Here on Gilligan’s Isle
February 23, 2000
It’s very easy to remain shipwrecked on this little island named Roatan. In fact, many Gringos end up spending much, much longer than they planned. Unless you’re a scuba diver there isn’t that much to do. Perhaps doing nothing is the main attraction.
They say the attitude of the locals has more of an impact on the tourists than vice-versa. The Gringos and the Islanders seem to blend very nicely unlike many other tourist destinations where the local culture is destroyed or remains distinct. The culture is multi-lingual with Spanish and English taught in most schools. This helps when it comes to being so Gringo-friendly.
